YRT also has a para-transit division, York Region Transit Mobility Plus, that provides limited on-demand transit service in lower-density areas and door-to-door accessibility service. Connections are made with the TTC, Brampton Transit, and Mississauga Transit, as well as with GO Transit at several locations within York Region.
YRT offers local, rapid and specialized transit services in all nine York Region municipalities. Our services keep residents connected within York Region, as well as connecting services in the City of Toronto and the Regions of Peel and Durham.
York Region Transit continued to exceed on-time performance targets in 2024, On-time performance is a measure of the quality of service operated by YRT. Operating schedules are compared to real-time operating data and adjusted six times per year. Service is monitored in real-time through the Centralized Control Centre.
YRT Express service lets you travel in style with fast service in comfortable buses that operate during rush hours. YRT services many York Region high schools and post-secondary schools. Our schedules provide frequent travel to and from schools during peak times that students will need to travel, such as morning and afternoon rush hours.
