SEPTA Mechanical found "problems" but the train was left in service. Crew reported smelling smoke on its fatal trip on the Wilmington line, stopped and discovered the fire.

They were Septa's AEM-7s and replaced with the Siemens locos. I witnessed Septa testing an Amtrak AEM-7 before they bought their own. They were towing an assortment of the old Blueliners and Silverliners!
