My 4th gen Intel CPU have normal Core Temperatures are completely normal, but "distance to TjMAX" (as shown in HWinfo) are high, 69c or 72c barely moves around, CPU package and Core Max is ok. Is this normal behaviour? I usually watch and track only Core Temperatures as ı learned over the years...

TJmax for Intel processors is much higher than the 80C it is HIGHLY recommended be considered the maximum recommended temperature as well.

The temperature this occurs at is commonly called TJMax or the maximum junction temperature. When it reaches this temperature, thermal throttling begins to try and keep the CPU core temperature from going any higher. Core i CPUs let you read the value for TJ Max by reading a register within the CPU.
TJMax is the temperature value at which your CPU cores will begin throttling in order to prevent overheating. You can also think of it as the maximum temperature your CPU will run before it tries to save itself.

I use HWinfo to check temperatures but I get all these readings, so I usually trust "whicever is the maximum". Now, HWinfo shows "CPU package. This is the recommended CPU temperature to watch", which seems useful. However, I find this other reading "Core distance to TjMax" that sometimes...
TjMax is the Core temperature at which the processor will "Throttle" for thermal protection. TjMax for your i7 2600K is 98C, so if Core temperature is 70C, then the distance to TjMax is 28C.

It remains ~90°c , and Core Distance to TjMAX remains also ~10°c. But the CPU Package goes to 99°c even 100°c. It shows Thermal thorttling for some cores, not all. But my PC runs sufficiently smooth even under this condition. I have not noticed any performance drop in that. My question is. Are these temp safe at all?
