The dyes are different and Kodachrome slides are coated with a protective lacquer on the emulsion side, which tends to interfere with Digital ICE. For calibration, I suggest you get Silverfast, which is a color-managed product and comes with IT8 calibration targets and software. Silverfast is much better at automatic adjustments than Nikonscan.
