To more easily manage your apps across multiple devices, you can turn on App sync. When you turn on App sync, apps that you install on your phone or tablet can be automatically installed on other devices that are signed in with the same Google Account. You can sync apps to other devices such as your watch, Chromebook, or TV.
If you change devices, such as if you lose your phone or get a new laptop, you can get your saved info back. You can sign in automatically to Gmail, YouTube, Search and other Google services. If you turn on Web and App Activity and sync your Chrome history, you can get a better, personalised experience in other Google products.
How sync works When your phone or tablet syncs, your Google apps refresh their data, and you get notifications about updates. Which apps sync By default, your apps made by Google automatically sync with your Google Account. For the individual apps made by Google, you can turn auto-sync on or off. Whether other apps can sync varies by app.
What is Google Sync? Google Sync uses Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync 12.1 to let users synchronize their work or school mail, contacts, and calendars to their mobile devices. For example, iPhone and iPad users can sign in with Microsoft Exchange to get their work Gmail messages in the Apple Mail app and Google Calendar events in Apple Calendar.
