I just went to my DMV office to renew my drivers license and was told as of my NY birth certificate will not be accepted anymore! I have to get a 'certified' birth certificate since mine was created prior to 1965.

Worrying about Not passing a DMV eye test is something a lot of older folks are going to face . Because age does effect the eyes, So all you young people or people with perfect vision with the wise cracks , "just wait" But there is a BIG difference between not seeing a letter on a chart and something coming at you in the road.

When I went to renew I saw an eye doctor first, so I could get new glasses and pass the DMV test, but the eye doctor said my eyes were easily good enough to pass without glasses, so he gave me a form to submit to DMV. Our AA accent in the DMV is from the tidewater area of southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. There are linguistic maps that show this.
