Chigwell is a town and civil parish in the Epping Forest District of Essex, England. It lies adjacent to the northern boundary of Greater London. It is on the Central line of the London Underground. At the 2021 census the parish had a population of 14,599 and the built up area had a population of 12,250.
Chigwell is located in the county of Essex, Eastern England, three miles south of the town of Loughton, ten miles south of the major town of Harlow, and 11 miles north-east of London. Chigwell lies just north-east of the Greater London border. Chigwell falls within the district council of Epping Forest, under the county council of Essex.

IRA Green Insignia maufacturing goes back to 1943. As far as I know they used the hallmark 3G in the 1950's and later used G23 in the 1960's and later. During the Vietnam era G23 would be correct. They did make sterling badges up until the mid 1960's when they switched to 1/20th Silver Filled. Current badges have no silver content.

The Vanguard hallmark on the air crew wing is 1950s as you have the code 1V on each side of the V. The captain bars look like they have the code V21 on each side of the V so this would date it from the 1960s on.
Several years ago I collected military uniform buttons and often times the hallmark on the back of the button is the best way to narrow down the time frame the button was produced. Well I wonder if this is the last hallmark ever used on military insignia by Hilborn Hamburger - a simple three digit number 362 - It is a USMC "approval number" granted to the specific maker to manufacture and sell the emblem (uniform articles as well).
