The cordless phone's base and the handset of the base itself both have voicemail indicators on them. It is a Uniden cordless system. My problem is, sure, when the Ooma system notifies that there is waiting new voicemail, the voicemail indicator light on my handset and the cordless base itself, and the Ooma hub too, all light up.
When I press *1, the caller can hear the on-hold music. I press the extension to transfer to, and Ooma says "call transferred." I hang up the phone, and the caller is disconnected. We can do the announced transfers successfully. We have a mix of phone handsets, and the behavior is the same on any of them.
The instructions talk about an envelop so if it rings, I can send it directly to voicemail. I have a telo and a headset (and a regular phone), but can't find any envelop to send to voicemail. Tom Ooma Moderator Posts: 4378 Joined: Sat 4:07 pm

ooma says if you connect your telo unit to a phone wall jack all the phones in the house will work unless you are still hooked up to a landline. My old house has a 4 wire landline. At&T installed a Cat-5 line to their router/modem for Uverse. It looks like that Cat5 line has two wires joining it. Do I need to cut these two wires to disconnect from my landline ? I have multi ring setup on my OOMA and it's call forward to my cell phone for multi ring. So when someone call the OOMA, my cell phone will also ring. Now, if I turn my cell phone off and I call the ooma, it will go straight to voicemail if I don't have the "Require key press before answering forwarded calls" check. It's this suppose to be normal?

With Ooma I see the alarm panel picking up line one and placing the call however the alarm monitoring company doesn't get the signal. I don't know if some type of programming needs to be done on the alarm panel or not; it worked perfectly fine with uVerse phone.
- My ooma is upstairs- I connected the Ooma to the wall jack upstairs. That cable came down to where the Vista and comm module is located. The cable coming down is a cat5 cable. I cut off the end of the cable coming from upstairs to reveal 8 strands in the cat5.

Re: Voicemail from Ooma - can't play or delete by Joacchim » Sat 5:01 pm I haven't tried accessing my message via the web app, but the same thing happens to me when I try to access the new message via Telo or by calling in remotely from my cell. I get all the way to "first new message" and then the call hangs up.
