While the schools exclusive from this neighborhood are overall not the most ideal, Laurelton has so far become a very decent experience for me. Neighbors are approachable, and make you feel comfortable to be around here, though the area can become a bit isolated.
The neighborhood derives its name from the Laurelton Station on the Long Island Rail Road, which was named for the laurels that grew there in the early 19th century.
