ASVAB Fact Sheet The purpose of the Fact Sheet is to provide you with information about the military enlistment test, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). ASVAB scores are used to determine if you are qualified to enlist in the military and to assign you to an appropriate job in the military.
ASVAB scoring is based on an Item Response Theory (IRT) model. IRT is a theory that enables test questions and examinee abilities to be placed on the same scale, thereby allowing tests to be tailored to the specific ability level of each examinee and scores to be expressed on the same scale regardless of the combination of items that are taken. The IRT model underlying ASVAB scoring is the ...
The second, list(), is using the actual list type constructor to create a new list which has contents equal to the first list. (I didn't use it in the first example because you were overwriting that name in your code - which is a good example of why you don't want to do that!)
(The list object must be iterable, implied by the for..in stanza.) The lesson here for new programmers is: You can’t get the number of items in a list without counting them at some point. The question becomes: when is a good time to count them?
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.
Sample Questions Taking a test can be a nerve-wracking experience. Knowing what to expect can help to reduce those pre-test jitters. Here’s your chance to see sample ASVAB test questions for each of the 10 subtests. Test your knowledge by selecting a subject and answering the sample questions below:
APPLICANTS ASVAB Test Preparation Disclaimer Official statement regarding fraudulent ASVAB test preparation claims.
Proctored Version of CAT-ASVAB Examinees must take the proctored CAT-ASVAB at a MEPS or MET site. Each examinee completes the test at his/her own pace. That is, when you complete a subtest, you can immediately move on to the next subtest without waiting for everyone else in the testing room to finish.
The ASVAB Testing Program does not endorse any particular method of test preparation beyond recommending that examinees take a solid core of courses in mathematics, English, and science in high school and/or college. Such academic preparation will help with performance on the Arithmetic Reasoning, Mathematics Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Word Knowledge, and General Science subtests ...
ASVAB Career Exploration Program The ASVAB is offered to high school and post-secondary students as part of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program. The program provides tools to help students learn more about career exploration and planning, in both the civilian and military worlds of work.
The ASVAB is also administered by the Services to individuals currently serving in the military. If you wish to be reclassified, you can retake the ASVAB to gain on-the-job training. To get more information about in-service testing, contact your base educational office.

When reading, list is a reference to the original list, and list[:] shallow-copies the list. When assigning, list (re)binds the name and list[:] slice-assigns, replacing what was previously in the list. Also, don't use list as a name since it shadows the built-in.
