There is absolutely nothing wrong with those in BE.
The first sentence about the car refers, as you thought, to ongoing action. We'd usually say "the car being parked", but informally, "the car parking" is acceptable. As to the second pair, there's nothing wrong with saying that loud music was suddenly heard from a door that was in the process of closing.

lstrip, rstrip and strip remove characters from the left, right and both ends of a string respectively. By default they remove whitespace characters (space, tabs, linebreaks, etc)

strip does nothing but, removes the the whitespace in your string. If you want to remove the extra whitepace from front and back of your string, you can use strip.
