I'm totally new to this and can't find a solution anywhere about this problem. I'm trying to select faces however it will not select the faces that I want.
I am looking for ilogic that would ideally be ran from the assembly edit environment and allow me to choose a face (maybe in the active sketch?) and then delete and/or trim all lines or geometry found outside of that face. I am looking for a quick way to do scribed lines. I have ilogic code that alr...

The orientation in a face based family is based on the host, so if you place the family on a wall in the project then the plan presentation set in the family is the front elevation in the project. It is not that hard to figure out once you get used to it.

I modified your Model override sketch to remove it, so you can see it generates when you do: I would go with Face Grooving like @a.laasW8M6T suggested. OR... use the new Groove Finishing toolpath, but with multiple passes, which also doesn't require any additional sketches to contain the toolpath: In ...
Make an offset plane from the face and choose 0 as the offset. The origin of any sketch created on that plane will be the centroid of the face. You can drop a sketch point there, and if necessary exit sketch and project that point back into another sketch with a more convenient coordinate system.
Is there an easy way to find the centre/centroid of a face?

I have a Face Hosted family instance, if i delete the Host parent Element, the face based family instance got- There’s currently no way to create a face/surface like this based only from points. I’m guessing what you’re after is a 4-sided face which has straight edges connecting those 4 vertices? The easiest way to do this is probably to build some sketch lines connecting those points, then build a Patch or Loft surface based on those lines.
Hello all, As the title says; I've made a face based family. When I group that family with its host everything is fine. But when i make a copy of the group, the copy in the new group loses its host and in this case more importantly its elevation. Is there anyway to fix or avoid this? Without hav...
