Dewalt batteries should have a 3 year warranty from either a receipt or the build date on the battery. I'm not familiar with the charger warranty but it must be at least a 1 year warranty. Ive sent a few in to a factory service center over the years without a receipt just using the date code on the battery and they send out new ones.
You can get same power as the higher voltage tools with lower voltage tools but they work harder. 18v tools are less efficient under load than higher voltage tools. More heat and more of the battery drained. Your 40v tools in theory should be less efficient than the 60v tools. I think the difference between the 40v chainsaw and the 60v chainsaw would be a bit of a wash but I could be wrong.
My Dewalt 30° cordless framer jams up sometimes, if the lever on top doesn't retract the firing pin I'll give the gun a good shake and it retracts. If you take gun apart you'll notice the firing pin is barely seated in, could easily damage or jump off track. Bad design. I modified to 21° but still same problem.
