A community profile allows us to understand the demographic and social characteristics of a group of people in a specific place. Professionals use community profiles to assess needs, request funding, allocate resources, and develop plans.
Once you have gathered the necessary data, you can then begin to build and document your community profile and answer specific questions. A bulleted summary table can be an easy way to describe the demographic characteristics of your service area.
Developing a community profile can help you understand the community and prepare for your public health work. Creating a community profile is an essential first step and can help you develop a community engagement plan later on.
Following the steps to build a community profile will help you and your community identify a prevention program or strategy that best meets your needs. Use local data, if available, to determine health or behavioral issues in need of extra resources and support.
Explore community profiling: its definition, development, uses, and relationship to needs assessment, social audits, and community consultation.
Our web-based profiles make information understandable, meaningful, actionable and accessible. Your website will drive community-wide dialogues about strengths, challenges and opportunities. Community profiles are indispensable for community planning and strategic development.
This document defines and compares different types of community research methods, including community profiles, needs assessments, social audits, and community consultations.
The book begins with consideration of what a community profile is, explores the different reasons why community profiles are undertaken and offers tips for planning research.

I had an old Coleman Scanoe back from the 80's I think. It was the kind that had an aluminum frame and had been used to fish in Alaska. I traded it on Craigslist a few months ago, but missed it, so I bought a new one from Dick's the other day. It doesn't have the aluminum framing. I haven't taken it out yet, but I hope it's as good as the old ...

Having experienced Coleman lantern and backpacking stove's propensity for spontaneously igniting things around them on fire (I once almost lit Cohutta on fire with a Coleman backpacking stove), I have no desire at all to go find and buy Coleman fuel, then mess around with these, so I will just sell them "as is".

I just wanted to gather some feedback on the old coleman coolers. Does anyone still have one, and if so do they perform well? I grew up on them, love the durability, but i am not sure if the looks are worth the lack of efficiency compared to what is out there now. any feedback appreciated!
