When you create a Microsoft 365 Group with a work or school account, you automatically extend to group members access to shared files on OneDrive, chats on Microsoft Teams, and task assignments in Planner. With the Groups experience in Outlook, members can access all of your group's activity in one place.
A Microsoft 365 Group lets you work with your friends, family or colleagues on a common goal: You can send messages to the group, share files, and schedule events on a group calendar. You can add members when you first create a group or add them later. Watch a short video about creating a group to be used as a company email address.
See Who can delete email from the Group inbox. Microsoft 365 Groups support nesting through dynamic groups in Microsoft Entra ID. Microsoft 365 Groups can be added to one of the three SharePoint groups (Owners, Members, or Visitors) to give people permissions to the site.
Under Members or Next steps, choose Add members to this mailbox. Select the user (s) who should have access and choose Add, then save/close. After being added as a member, the user can open and use the shared mailbox in Outlook on the web or the new Outlook client: In Outlook, after membership is granted, close and restart Outlook.
