The Department of Revenue has partnered with certain software companies to offer free and/or low cost online filing services to Georgia taxpayers under the Free File Alliance Program. Under this agreement, qual-ified taxpayers can prepare and file their Georgia individual income tax returns for free or a low cost using approved software.

We strongly recommend you file with our new online tax portal, CRISP at crisp.columbus.gov. On CRISP, you can electronically complete your Form BR-25 and upload all documentation. Page 1 of the BR-25 replaces Form BR-21 Declaration of Estimated Tax. Form BR-PV replaces Form BR-18 and Form BR-42.

Taxpayers who owe $200 or more in tax for the current tax year (Part A Line 8) are required to make quarterly estimated tax payments (Columbus Code 362.07). To avoid penalties, estimated payments for the tax year must total either 90% of the tax due for the current year or be equal to the amount of tax due on this return
