Participants in past years have come from towns all over Long Island. We also offer hourly surf lessons. We have surfboard rentals available at Gilgo Beach.

We are conveniently located on the South Shore of Long Island in Babylon Village. We service all areas of Long Island west of Babylon to New York City and East from Sayville to Montauk.

Bunger Surf Shop has 4,000 square feet of retail space in Babylon Village, New York and operates a 2,000 square foot surfboard manufacturing facility in West Babylon. Since the passing of Charlie Bunger Sr. in 2018, Bunger Surf Shop continues to be operated by the Bugner family, Charlie, Jr., Theresa and Tommy, who runs the custom surfboard business.
The Bunger Surf Classic contest remains a cherished tradition, organized by the Bunger family, uniting the mid-Long Island surf community for a day of exhilarating competition and camaraderie. Beyond the waves, we’re deeply invested in preserving surfing’s rich heritage on Long Island.
