About SamTrans The San Mateo County Transit District is the administrative body for the principal public transit and transportation programs in San Mateo County: SamTrans bus service, including Redi-Wheels & RediCoast paratransit service, Caltrain commuter rail and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority.
SamTrans collects and logs items left on buses and Redi-Wheel vehicles, except if it's perishable (food). If you left something on a bus or Redi-Wheels, complete the form to report the lost item.
Millions of customers rely on SamTrans bus service each year to keep them on the move. Buses operate throughout San Mateo County and into parts of San Francisco and Palo Alto, a 446-square mile service area. Monthly total and average weekday ridership numbers are included in each SamTrans Board of Directors monthly agenda packet, available online.
